Stettler Sapphire AG is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of top-quality artificial sapphire products. The company supplies in particular watch glasses and special sapphire components to the leading Swiss watchmakers. Moreover, it manufactures technical products for industrial applications, and in particular products developed to customer specifications for the optical and electronics industries as well as medical technology. Stettler’s primary unique selling proposition is its expertise in materials and processing. The company has a total workforce of 410 employees at its headquarters in Lyss, Switzerland, and on Mauritius, where it operates its own synthetic sapphire production facility.

The acquisition

In 2011 Equita GmbH & Co. Holding KGaA acquired the Stettler Group with a co-investment by the company’s management team.

The implementation of the growth plan

HQ Equita will support the Stettler management team in achieving long-term growth for the company. In addition to further growth in the luxury watch segment, these efforts will focus on increasing Stettler’s presence in technical markets.
